the centrality and significance of the heaven and earth theme

It is 10:52 AM Sunday morning according to my lap top clock. We lost an hour last night. Where did that lost hour go? Did that lost hour go into the stomach of the Void?

I got up this morning around 7:10 AM and had breakfast. Carol was making pancakes when I got up this morning.

After breakfast we took Rudy for a walk at Kollen Park. When we got home around 9:47 AM I left to go downtown for a large mocha and to look through the Sunday New York Times at Lemonjello’s. Carol did not come with me because she goes to a church on Sunday. Carol has going to church on Sunday in her blood. Carol finds delight in worshiping God in church on Sunday. She likes to sing the praises of God. Man was created to worship (Romans chapter 1:18f.).

Now I am home down in the basement listening to Autechre and writing words in my four blogs. I need to keep track of my spiritual life so I write it down when I am able. (”And if anyone gives a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” Matt. 10:42).

I need to put on some more mellow morning music. I will be back in a lickety-split.

I am Now listening to Red House Painters “songs for a blue guitar” that is more mellow. During the morning hours it is difficult to listen to music that is abrasive.

It is 11:10 AM Sunday morning. Unusually Carol gets home from church around 11:22 AM Sunday. I think the first Sunday of the month at her church is Missionary Sunday so they will have missionary speak about their missionary work before the sermon.

“At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matt. 11:25-30

Last night we watched college football and went to bed around 11:40 PM. I mainly read last night “Heaven and Earth in the Gospel of Matthew” by Jonathan T. Pennington.

I have nothing pressing on my mind this morning. I should read The Gospel of Matthew and then eat some food with my wife when she gets home from church. Time keeps marching on.
